Bro-Tex

Thank you for taking the time to visit our web page and learn more about BRO-TEX. Our goal is to provide useful information to those in the industries we serve. Bro-Tex was originally founded in 1923 as the Minnesota Rag and Paper Stock Company, Inc. by Arnold Greenberg and Charles Brotsky as a supplier of mixed wiping rags. Through acquisitions and expansions the company added the fiber department and the laundry department to become a full service wiping rag supplier. Roger Greenberg, Arnold's son, purchased complete control of the company from the Brotsky family in 1957 and in 1960, changed the name to Bro-Tex Company, Inc. BRO-TEX was the trade name of the Wiping Cloth Department of the company. Business continued to grow in both the secondary fiber department as well as the wiping cloth department which necessitated a move to a larger facility in 1969. In the 1970’s and 1980’s the wiper department continued to diversify into additional product lines including non-woven materials, paper products and specialty wipers and sorbent products. Since that time, additional equipment and plant expansion has taken place. We now offer over 25 different types of paper / non-woven wipers which are converted into Stack Pack™, Quarter fold, Dispense Pro® and Center Flo® packaging options. We also offer over 30 types of new and reclaimed cloth wipers and towels. In addition to the wipers we convert, we also offer a wide selection of specialty wipes including Micro Fiber towels and pre-moistened wet wipes. As an added benefit we offer contract converting and custom packaging as part of our private label program. Bro-Tex Inc. has pioneered the use of new processes and technologies that allow us to recycle used Post Consumer Carpet (PCC) for a variety of applications. We accept carpet directly at Bro-Tex, or through our network of collection centers. At Bro-Tex we thoroughly inspect and test the carpet by type of material and construction to determine where it can be used. The materials from this carpet could become new carpet again, plastic resin for making plastic parts, plastic drainage pipe, new carpet pad, acoustic matting, sorbent material for water pollutants or as an energy substitute for natural gas and coal. Bro-Tex actively participates in the Carpet America Recovery Effort, CARE, with the objective of diverting 40% of the Post Consumer carpet from the landfills in the USA by the year 2012. Per the CARE statistics you will help save 440 gallons of oil, 10,000,000 BTU of energy and divert 4,500 lbs from landfills for every 1,000 square yards of carpet that is recycled. More details are available on the CARE website at www.carpetrecovery.org.
