Brownlee LLP operates one of the largest commercial lending practices in Western Canada. Our lender clients include chartered banks, life insurance companies and major pension funds. In addition, we frequently provide advice to borrowers relating to the negotiation and structuring of credit facilities with their lender. In acting for lenders in commercial lending transactions, our preference is to provide advice at an early stage regarding the structuring of the loan and the loan security. Once the business terms have been agreed upon between the lender and the borrower, our focus shifts to completing the transaction in a timely and efficient manner. Likewise, when acting for borrowers, we welcome the opportunity to assist in the structuring of our client's credit facilities with a view to satisfying the lender's requirements while allowing our client the maximum amount of flexibility in the continued operation of its business. Finally, our Commercial Lending and Enforcement Team can provide assistance to both lenders and borrowers in relation to security enforcement, receiverships, bankruptcy and insolvency as well as loan workouts and restructurings.
