Busy Things

busythings.co.uk is developed and delivered by Busythings Ltd (formerly Q&D), a software company based in Derby. Our service is used by thousands of schools and nurseries both in the UK and abroad and by many local authorities and Australian library services. We are an Early Years and Key Stage 1 specialist. Much of our software is also used to help children through the transition to Key Stage 2 and we're adding more advanced content all the time. We also take great care to ensure that our activities can be accessed and played by children with special needs. Q&D was founded in 2000. We have made and continue to make software for many well-known educational publishers at primary, secondary and special needs levels and for the business sector. We began publishing our own titles ten years ago based on the principle of 'learning through play'. We are now a leading publisher in the Nursery and Primary sector with many of our products winning awards. In 2008 and 2010 we were the overall winners in the Early Years category at the BETT Awards for our creative CD-ROM titles Noisy Things and Pretty Things. In 2009 we launched our online service busythings.co.uk to deliver our games in a modern format with all the benefits that the internet offers. Soon afterwards it was purchased by the London Grid for Learning making our software available to over 2,000 Primary schools across Greater London. In 2010 busythings.co.uk won a Gold Practical Pre-School award. In 2011 busythings.co.uk was the winner of the BETT award for best Early years and Primary Digital content. 2011 also saw us branch out to a whole new market of library users across Australia. 2012 saw the launch of a tablet version of the website so that 80+ games and activities can be accessed via Android and Apple devices - more are being added all the time. Also in 2012 we started to develop busythings apps, featuring our most popular characters. A range is now available in the Apple and Google Play app stores and more are in development. From 2013 onwards we've been very busy developing busythings.co.uk and adding new content - we now have activities linked to the curriculum for ages 3 all the way up to 9. 2015? Watch this space!
