Since 1893, Cambridge Camping has served children from under-resourced families by providing exceptional summer camp programs. We offer affordable day camps and overnight partner-camps, which provide engaging and enriching experiences to children with limited access to these opportunities. Children and youth attend CCA camps from challenging social and economic backgrounds, eager to play and make new friends, ready to try new things and discover gifts they didn't know they had. Why is summer camp important for kids? Camp is more than just an optional summer recreation program for the campers we serve. For children who have known mostly frustration in traditional classroom learning, camp is a place where they can know success. Camp provides an alternative route for learning and achievement. Camps provide ideal settings for building friendships, interacting with nature, and developing healthy behaviors. Camp promotes outdoor activities that allow children to unplug from technology and plug into the world around them - connecting with other people and encouraging their curiosity of the world around them. Through Cambridge Camping, kids enjoy opportunities for hiking, swimming and canoeing, as well as the freedom to run and play. Cambridge Camping operates two day camps, a nature camp, a counselor-in-training program and an overnight campership program referral and a camper placement program for the Department of Children and Families. We make camp financially possible for hundreds of low-income children every summer.
