We are aiming to inform parents and carers as much as possible since studies in Britain have shown that students who are supported by their families with home learning are likely to perform significantly better in academic examinations at 16 years old and beyond than those who do not. Our aim is to help students become more independent and resilient and further develop their research skills to fully prepare them for KS4, KS5 and beyond. Students are expected to write their homework in their journal. We ask parents to check the journal each day and ensure that the homework is completed to a high standard. For parents, the journal is also a means of communicating with their child's tutor and teachers. Students are expected to meet deadlines which promote self-discipline, an attribute which will impact on school work, further education and employment. We are hoping that the overviews will help inform you of the forthcoming tasks and create a routine for learning at home. Thank you for your continued support.
