Cathcart Group is the parent company of Cathcart Development, Cathcart Construction, Cathcart Property Management and Cathcart Senior Living. Founded by Rip Cathcart in 1984, the company is based in Charlottesville, Virginia and was formerly named, Cathcart Properties. The Company name changed in 2010 and was part of a new focus - "As we've planned for the future, we have honed our organizational direction with a vision for the new era" said Todd Dofflemyer, CEO of Cathcart Group. In the early years, Cathcart Group focused on the acquisition of small residential properties, such as duplexes, townhouses, and single-family homes. In 1992 Cathcart Group made the quantum leap into large scale residential development by developing the 348-unit Lakeside Apartments. The project redefined luxury rentals in Charlottesville, VA. To date, the company has developed more than 800 luxury apartment homes and is primarily focused on developing land, luxury apartments, senior living facilities, condominiums, and townhomes.
