Capital & Credit Merchant Bank

Capital & Credit Merchant Bank

Capital & Credit Merchant Bank (CCMB) is a subsidiary of Capital & Credit Financial Group Limited (CCFG) and is one of three merchant banks operating in Jamaica. The Bank is engaged primarily in the business of Merchant and Investment Banking, which includes deposit taking and the issuance of credit. CCMB was launched a privately held entity in 1994, when Capital & Credit Holdings Ltd. (the Group's parent company) acquired and re-capitalised it with an asset base of J$30 Million. It was then the smallest of 30 merchant banks in Jamaica and became a public company in May 2003, being the first Jamaican merchant bank to be listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange. It was also the first Jamaican merchant bank and third local company at the time, to be listed on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange. CCMB delisted from both exchanges five years later on May 14, 2008, to facilitate CCFG's restructuring. CCMB now trades preference shares on both stock exchanges. Today, CCMB enjoys the status of being the best capitalised Merchant Bank in Jamaica with J$5.63 Billion in Capital as of December 31, 2009, and operates out of Kingston, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. CCMB is licensed under the Financial Institutions Act, and is regulated by the Bank of Jamaica and the Financial Services Commission. The Bank is an Authorised Foreign Exchange Dealer, and is also approved by the Development Bank of Jamaica and the EXIM Bank as an authorised lender. CCMB is also a member of the Jamaica Deposit Insurance Corporation scheme (JDIC). Capital & Credit Merchant Bank Ltd. maintains its passion for excellence through focused leadership, transparency and Performance with Integrity.
