Data is the new oil, and the data produced by connected devices such as household appliances, cars, and smartphones may ultimately be more valuable than the devices themselves. But the data is only valuable if it gets to the right places. Chainfrog software uses blockchain technology to enable IoT data access permissions, PKI and device identity management, and software update provenance in a truly decentralized manner. It is also GDPR compliant without sacrificing decentralization. Chainfrog Provenance allows digital files to be registered on a blockchain, to provide proof of file integrity. The demonstration system lets you upload a jpg file, the EXIF data of which is edited to include a pointer to the location on the blockchain of a hash of the file. The hash is then loaded onto the blockchain at the correct location.
