Cleveland Electric

Cleveland Electric was founded in 1925 by Mr. Ras Cleveland. The original business was focused on electric motor repair. This business later evolved into an electric apparatus repair, sales and service business. Cleveland Electric's motor business grew steadily over the years and ultimately developed revenues of approximately $30 million dollars. Subsequent to World War II, Cleveland Electric began electrical construction work. In 1959 the founder turned the business over to his two sons, Louie Cleveland, Sr. and James Cleveland, Sr. Louie managed the repair portion of the business and James took over the construction operation. In 1962 a mechanical construction department was begun and subsequently an instrumentation company was purchased and ultimately merged into Cleveland Electric. Due to a declining market for motor repair and high fixed costs in the operation, this portion of the business was sold in 1998. However, construction in the South was pervasive and allowed us to start and grow a deep resume in our current target markets; Healthcare/Lab/R&D; Industrial/Power Generation; Mission Critical; Transit; and Institutional/Commercial. Thanks to our core, repeat customers we annually average over $125 million per year in total company revenues. Cleveland has been consistently ranked in the top of ENR's annual ranking of the "Top 100" specialty contractors. A large majority of our existing business comes from repeat clients. We are a relationship driven company. Our desire is to become a consistent member of your design and construction team that provides innovative, cost effective inputs with high quality safe installations. Our projects range in size from modest local installations to significant industrial complexes. We have extensive experience in Electrical, Voice and Data, Mechanical and Process Piping. Cleveland has the resources, experience and expertise to provide specialty construction services. Other service capabilities include Pipe Fabrication, Equipment Installation and Electrical Maintenance. Our dedication to delivering more than we promise has won the confidence and respect of major owners, architects and engineers. Cleveland's exceptional record of projects completed on time and in budget is a tribute to the expertise and professional character of our field staff, contract managers, and to our organization's support personnel. "I commend your employees' outstanding dedication to quality and safety, and to the timely completion of the South River Project. We look forward to teaming up with Cleveland again.
