Corporate Safety Statement: Employee safety is a top priority at Comfort Systems of Virginia, Inc. (CSV). To ensure a clear understanding of the company's commitment to safety we have established a Corporate Safety Policy. The safety of all employees is of prime concern and importance to CSV. It is our belief that accidents are preventable and that an accident-free work environment is achievable. The company intends to fully comply with all Federal, State, and Local safety laws and regulations. Each Project Manager and/or Project Superintendent is responsible for the development and implementation of an effective work system, which will achieve an accident-free environment. No task will be considered of such importance or urgency that standard safe work practices or work safety rules may be ignored or the method of accomplishment place an employee in danger. No employee will be compelled to undertake any task for which they do not feel that they have the training, skills or equipment to conduct safely. Each Project Manager and/or Project Superintendent is responsible for formal communication and periodic review of this policy, and of all safety policies and procedures, including necessary discussions to achieve the full understanding and commitment of every employee. Supervisors, company managers and designated safety representatives have the authority to stop work and remove all employees from any situation posing an immediate danger of injury or illness. Work shall resume only after the hazards have been controlled and it is safe to do so. The company will provide and maintain safe equipment, processes and procedures, and employees will be trained to work in a safe manner. All employees are expected to work safely and in conformance with established policies, procedures and rules as set forth in the safety program, required by their supervisor, either orally or in writing or as set forth at the work site by the owner or prime contractor. Failure to comply with established work rules or conduct endangering the employee or others will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination as provided for in the company employee disciplinary guidelines. All Comfort Systems personnel, whether engaged as management, administrative or operations functions are expected to actively participate in and support the company safety program. Compliance with this policy is a condition of employment.
