Originally founded in 2010 by Sean Penn as J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO) to provide long-term support for the people of Haiti and their communities following the devastating 2010 earthquake, CORE unifies local and national government leaders, community-based organizations, other international NGOs, UN agencies, and donors with community members for holistic relief efforts. To combat the destructive COVID-19 pandemic, CORE is partnering with community organizations and local governments to set up and operate testing clinics across the United States, specifically targeting vulnerable communities.
