COSMAN Srl

The COSMAN project started in 1996 thanks to the collaboration between an Italian management consulting group and a group of professionals who worked in the English-speaking world. This particularly competitive context allowed us to quickly test the efficiency of a new method to optimize costs within complex organizations. By applying the method to Italian businesses we then fine-tuned all the related methods and techniques. We have developed an effective integrated approach, eliminating operating risks and overcoming organizational inflexibility that is typical in complex organizations. Today COSMAN are successfully using this proprietary method, and we continue to address its evolution thanks also to prestigious collaborations with research centres and university institutions. Among others, we maintain contacts with the FIAT Research Centre, we have scientific support from Professor Massimo Aielli of the SDA Bocconi School of Management, and we collaborate with the teams of Professor Mario Fedrizzi and Professor Paolo Giorgini of the Engineering Faculty at the University of Trento. Ever since its beginnings, COSMAN have built an internal infrastructure of Competence Centres that has been developed and enriched over the years. Our approach to Cost Management has been successfully applied to important companies, such as IBM, Oracle, Bosch, Gucci, Coop, Tetrapak, Wind, Trevi, Assicurazioni Generali, Benetton, Ospedale Gemelli, Conad, Despar, Glaxo, Menarini, Indesit, Federazione Trentina della Cooperazione, Melinda and many others.
