Court Moor School

Court Moor School

Court Moor is a high-achieving school with a supportive staff, parents and governing body. We have a fairly traditional GCSE-based curriculum which is coupled with a broader commitment to the enrichment of the student experience. Our last Ofsted inspection graded the school as 'good' with outstanding behaviour and safety; the report noted students' 'exceptionally respectful and considerate behaviour'. This role offers the opportunity for an innovative professional to make a substantial contribution to the leadership of this over-subscribed school. The specific responsibilities of this post will be aligned with the skills and interests of the individual appointed. The school's motto of 'Caring to Achieve' is integral to our day-to-day work as leaders and teachers. Court Moor is a school which staff and students enjoy coming to, and we are proud of its collaborative and courteous environment. As a leadership team we value creativity, reliability and approachability; we believe in empowering staff to do the very best job they can and we appreciate positive proactive attitudes. As a school we try to draw from a range of organisations to improve our work; over the last year we have joined PiXl and become a member of the Whole Education network; we also have a significant commitment to the Thornden School LEARN alliance. We believe in the value of research and development in order to improve the classroom practice of teachers and as a leadership team our strategy is often informed by our educational reading. Our middle leadership team aims to drive improvement across the whole school and we are involved at county level in a number of projects. We have a commitment to the professional development of staff so they are ready to progress, with a range of training opportunities available to help them prepare for the next stage of their careers. Although hard work and commitment are required, we also value and protect the work-life balance of our colleagues. We are very much looking forward to the fresh perspective that a new SLT member can bring and we look forward to receiving applications. Court Moor School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check along with other relevant pre-employment checks.
