Commercial Properties

In 1966, the newly formed Commercial Properties Limited built and developed the Brunswick House office tower in Saint John, New Brunswick. This was the first high rise building in the historic port city, and for many years our only rental property. In recent history we have enlarged our portfolio through acquisition, building, and restoration. Today, across Eastern Canada, Commercial Properties owns or manages over forty properties, specializing in office/retail, commercial and industrial. We own and manage over 1,000,000 square feet in both major centers and smaller communities. As a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada, we are committed to the BOMA BESt program for certification of environmentally responsible management. We were the first private company in Atlantic Canada to achieve this recognition for an office building (Brunswick House), and we have since certified our Red Rose, Mercantile Center, Commerce Place and Somerset Square offices. Somerset Square has the distinction of being the first privately owned office building in Atlantic Canada to receive BOMA BESt's highest certification, Level 4. This property was also the first privately owned building in Atlantic Canada to achieve the LEED Gold standard for new construction. We are associated with industry leaders in design, engineering and construction, and we bring the expertise of this team to our projects. We have also enlisted the unique talents of skilled craftspeople in our heritage restoration projects. One of our heritage projects is a source of great pride for us. Across the street from our first building, Brunswick House, we have restored a city block of brick and sandstone buildings built after the Great Saint John Fire of 1877. This office/retail complex, a centerpiece of Saint John's uptown redevelopment, has been named CenterBeam Place for our anchor tenant. This project involved reclaiming and joining unused upper story spaces of nine historic buildings in the King and Prince William St. district known as Trinity Royal. The sensitive restoration exposes and displays the original architecture of brick, wood, and stone. Exterior storefronts of galleries, bistros and fine merchants reflect nineteenth century grace to strolling pedestrians. Interior offices, fully integrated with twenty-first century services, surround a restful Victorian courtyard. We are also pleased to have restored a historic military building in South End Saint John as a suite of modern professional offices. The Ordnance Building dates back to 1842 and was originally used by the British Army garrison stationed at this site. Our tenants though are our biggest source of pride. We enjoy long standing relationships with many of Atlantic Canada's most successful companies, who look for high quality function and convenience of location. We are "@ Your Service" TM to our tenants, and insist on highest standards of space and service delivery. We look forward to talking with you about your office, retail, commercial or industrial property needs.
