Craggs Energy

Craggs Energy was established in September 2011 and was set up by Ralph Thornber, his wife June Thornber and their daughter and son-in law Heidi and Chris Bingham. Ralph formerly owned the Townson Thornber Distributorship and sold out in the 1980's - there his name was established for delivering high levels of customer service and ensuring all his customers received their deliveries on time. Many of the original staff that worked for Ralph were keen to come back and work for him in his new venture and we still have those very same members of staff with us today! Along with his son-in-law Chris Bingham, they set up a depot in Cragg Vale to deliver fuel to the local community. Coming from software business background, Chris had a very good understanding of the consumer market and new technology. In August 2012 we opened a second depot in Padiham, East Lancashire (formerly owned by Samuel Cooke & Co Ltd). This enabled Craggs Energy to increase its growth and expansion leading to another two depots to be opened in December 2013 in South Yorkshire and South Cumbria. This wider coverage has firmly rooted our name as a significant player in the UK fuel industry. Winning New Business of the Year in the Halifax Business Awards in 2012 and shortlisted as New Business of the Year in the National Business Awards in 2013, shows we have received continued success for our achievements in the industry. As a proud member of the FPS (Federation of Petroleum Suppliers) we also support the Code of Practice and ensure we follow this code throughout our business. We ensure our customers receive their oil at a fair price, delivered when they need it, whether that be ordering online, texting a sales rep or picking up the phone.
