CRYSTALLOGRAFX

CrystallografX provides a commercial consultancy and laboratory service to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries in the focused area of crystal structure determination from X-ray powder diffraction data. The Directors, who are actively involved in academic research, are recognised experts in the field of powder diffraction, crystallization and polymorphism and the study of phase transformations. Prof. Alastair Florence of the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at Strathclyde University where he develops the activities of the Solid-State Research Group in close collaboration with Dr Norman Shankland. Professor Bill David (Individual Merit Band 1 scientist) and Dr Kenneth Shankland (Group Leader, Data Analysis and Visualisation) , both of the ISIS Facility at the CCLRC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory carried out the original development work on the DASH crystal structure solution package which is now jointly developed by CCLRC and CCDC.
