Contract Services

For over 50 years, Contract Services ( csatf.org ) has partnered with producers, guilds, unions, and employees to carry out the vital behind-the-scenes tasks that help keep the motion picture and television industry working smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Since 2003, over one million hours of training have been conducted through Contract Services' Safety Pass program, which covers a wide array of industry-specific topics for a freelance workforce of over 45,000. The Safety Pass Program was conceived by the Motion Picture and Television Industry-Wide Labor-Management Safety Committee as a means of addressing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's ("OSHA") requirements that employees be trained in the safe use of equipment and work practices on their job. Because of the freelance nature of many motion picture and television assignments, the Safety Pass Program provides valuable assistance in meeting the training needs of the industry by providing industry-wide general safety training, thus allowing producers to concentrate on site-specific training for the work at hand.
