Connecticut Rivers Council

The Connecticut Rivers Council is one of New England's largest private youth-serving organizations; the Connecticut Rivers Council delivers Scouting programs that develop character, citizenship, fitness, and leadership skills to more than 20,000 youth and nearly 7,000 adult volunteers in 127 cities and towns in Connecticut. The Boy Scouts of America collaborates with hundreds of churches, school affiliated groups and other community organizations that organize and operate local Scout groups. OUR MISSION: It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America and the Connecticut Rivers Council to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout oath and law. SCOUT OATH: On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight. SCOUT LAW: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. The skills I learned in the Boy Scouts gave me the confidence and mindset to be successful in school, in my community, and in my personal growth.
