The Custom Group Ltd has rapidly evolved into one of the U.K's premier providers of window furnishing and Theatre/Drama room products. The company was originally founded in 1974 by Richard J. Rybij, an Ilkeston born man who combined his skill in the Sales and Marketing of Soft Furnishings with a desire to offer a fast, quality curtain manufacturing service to the Retail sector. 'Custom Curtain Company' was formed and it's success within the Retail market quickly spread to the Contract industry, where the same principles of attention to detail and customer care resulted in the company being awarded many prestigious contracts, both in the UK and Internationally. The business was incorporated in 1987 by which time the company had relocated several times, each move adding further floor space to allow additional production facilities. The manufacture of window blinds commenced along with the creation of a specialist 'Theatre' division, formed to provide Curtains, seating and other drapery products for some of the Country's largest performance venues. Projects handled by the division in the 1990's included the refurbishment of all the soft furnishings for The Point Depot in Dublin and rejuvenation of the Lyceum Theatre in London in time for Prince Charles' 50th Birthday Party! Early 2000's saw additional expansion for all divisions leading to the construction of the company's current headquarters, adding further valuable office space, conferencing facilities and production capacity to alleviate pressure on the company's other 2 existing factory units. Currently the Custom Group Ltd offers more products and services to a greater number of consumers than ever before. Every new project undertaken is treated like the first and is carefully managed from conception to completion to ensure the objectives of cost and time-scale are achieved. Although the company has changed and evolved over the last few decades, the core values of product quality, speed of service and professionalism remain resolute.
