Cutting Edge Superconductors

Cutting Edge Superconductors, Inc. is producing MgB2 wires for the next generation cryogen-free 1.5T and 3.0T MRI based on our worldwide patented technology. This next generation MRI will reduce the patient's MRI scan cost by about 40%, significantly enhancing public health services. We are in the process of establishing a manufacturing facility of MgB2 wires in Puerto Rico, creating a few hundred high tech jobs for the community. The feasibility and the scalability of our worldwide patented technology have been successfully proved, thanks to National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding and the Matching Fund from PR Science Trust.
