Dalry School

Dalry School

Dalry School is a combined Nursery, Primary and Secondary School which caters for children from Nursery to S4*. The school is situated on a spacious, elevated and attractive site overlooking the valley of the River Ken and the Rhinns of Kells. It serves a large, sparsely populated rural area in Central Galloway known locally as 'The Glenkens'. There are associated Primary Schools in New Galloway, (Kells Primary School), and Carsphairn, (Carsphairn Primary School), with whom we operate a successful 'cluster group', sharing resources and good practice. We liaise very closely for the nursery to P1 transition and the P7-S1 transition. Our cluster P7 pupils attend the Secondary for a variety of subjects on Thursdays during Terms 2 to 4. Most of the Secondary classrooms are situated in a three floor block at the west end of the 'T' shaped building except for the Computer Room which is located within the Primary School at the east end of the building. The Nursery in based in the Primary School. The PE Department is based in the Gym Hall which links the Primary and Nursery with the Secondary.
