Dermot Ross & Co specialises in all aspects of corporate and commercial legal work, with a particular specialisation in finance matters. All matters within the general ambit of the banking and finance industry are areas on which Dermot will be happy to be involved. These include transactional borrowing and lending work, regulatory assistance, independent advice on financings of all sorts (e.g. insolvencies, restructurings, securitisations, project financings and asset-backed financing), PPSA and other security matters and general bank advice. While Dermot's reputation is primarily in banking and finance, he has a broad experience and knowledge of the wider commercial and corporate laws in New Zealand and is admirably qualified to practice and advise in those areas. Dermot has also considerable experience in aspects of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, including acting for two start-ups from their incorporation through to their obtaining licences from the Financial Markets Authority as an equity crowd funding agency and peer to peer lender respectively. Dermot has also been involved in a number of ship financing transactions in recent times.
