Desmond Fine Art is an independent personal property appraisal firm located in midcoast Maine, specializing in the valuation of fine art. It was founded by Jo Desmond, an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers, holding a designation in Personal Property/Fine Arts. Expertise includes the valuation of paintings, sculpture, art glass, prints, drawings, site specific sculpture, murals, vintage and modern photography. In addition, qualified consultants are available as part of a team approach in such classified specialties as antiques and decorative arts, rare books, Asian art, oriental rugs, and others. All appraisal reports are prepared in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) published by the Appraisal Foundation and comply with the Principles of Appraisal Practice and Code of Ethics of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), and IRS regulations. All reports, consulting assignments and client information are confidential.
