As a lifelong resident of Detroit, Alex Howbert has been utilizing the benefits of the Detroit River for as long as he can remember. Alex grew up racing sailboats on the river, swimming and kayaking throughout the canals, and has an extensive knowledge of the water. All of these activities solidified Alex's love of the river and the permanence of his residency in Detroit.
