Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Formed in 1987, The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is a department of the Australian Government responsible for advancing the interests of Australia and its citizens internationally and for managing the government's foreign relations and trade policies. The department maintains offices in each state and mainland territory with headquarters in the Australian Capital Territory.
