West Education Center

The North Education Center (NEC) is the premier provider of specialized services in meeting the unique learning needs of our students. The NEC is at the fore front of innovation and responsiveness in meeting students where they are at academically and social emotionally. The NEC is one of 11 schools in District 287. The NEC provides services to about 450 students. The faculty consists of 250 licensed and non-licensed professionals committed to ensuring a safe and nurturing educational environment for all students. At the NEC we are committed and determined to transform the lives of students both academically and emotionally. The NEC uses assessment data to focus our instruction in increasing student achievement. This is done through a variety of assessments and the data gathered from those assessments guide the individualized instruction for our students. Additionally, the NEC is a Nurtured Heart school that transforms the lives of students by focusing on the internal greatness of students. The Nurtured Heart Approach gives students purpose and intentions for their lives. Finally, the combination of both academic and social emotional transformation results in a well-rounded scholar and citizen in transforming their world.
