Dolphin was founded by James Smythe a couple of years after he finished his Master's Degree. James and Daniel had 2 different but complimentary set of skills, with James originally focussing on just Search Engine Optimisation, while Daniel handled all the design and programming. In recent years, we have seen a shift in how our company works. Traditional SEO is no longer as simple as it was, and now our focus is largely on developing quality unique content for our clients. With the growth of WordPress, we no longer develop normal websites from the ground up, but rather use WordPress as the base of all our work. This gives our clients considerably more functionality at a reduced cost. We do, however, still code bespoke web applications, and this is a growing niche, both in terms of our business and the industry in general. Many clients have various ways to manage their business, from self-built excel sheets to custom MS Access databases. Often these are inefficient, a susceptible to data loss, and don't offer the flexibility to access your data anytime or anywhere you want. Clients using these systems can come to us and we will write an online application that can handle all the old business processes, import all the old data into the new system, and then the client can access their data anywhere in the world all from one web app designed just for them. We handle all the backups and provide 99.99% uptime for all our sites. We also develop applications for new business ideas and we can develop mobile apps to work in conjunction with web-based applications. We have worked with a variety of new companies from social media to legal industries. Over the years, we have worked with hundreds of companies from small to large, local to international. We have been fortunate enough to work with some companies from the start and help develop them into extremely successful business with huge turnovers and eventual sale.
