Donka
Donka, Inc. was founded in 1987 at the Dupage Convalescent Center (DPCC) with two students and a mission. Within 10 years of its establishment, Donka was celebrating more than 100 graduates. In 1993, Don Van Haveren passed away but his vision lived on. The DPCC grew and Donka has expanded from a few computers to a modern lab that provides competitive skill-training and convenient computer accessibility for the residents of the DPCC and persons with disabilities from all of DuPage County. Donka's Mobile Lab service began in 2004 and has made it possible to serve students and train professionals who work in the field of disability services in DuPage, Kane and Cook counties. For over 25 years, Donka has seen more than 650 graduates, 20% of whom have been successfully employed. Our graduates continue to enjoy their technological independence and developing their computer skills.
