Eagle's sister company, Eagle Rig Manufacturing, Ltd had been manufacturing rigs for the Marcellus Shale play for a number of years and has perfected the rig needed for the long laterals that require double and triple stacked BOP's and snubbing operations. When the Permian Basin Shale Play first began no properly sized or designed equipment was available in the basin, and even now is available only on a limited basis. Therefore the shale operators relied heavily on coil to complete wells, but laterals are now extending beyond the safe reach of coil, and the economic savings of stick drill-outs is 50% the cost of coil. We recently drilled out an 84 plug lateral in the Midland Basin.
