We immediately set up a South Korea office in Seoul to act as a bridge between the European and Asian markets and start to make our first contacts with young start-up companies. Our CEO becomes a mentor for Startupbootcamp Smart Transportation & Energy, giving rise to cooperation with various universities, particularly EBS University of Business and Law; e&Co. becomes a partner for the institution's EBS Symposium. skill-fisher, a boutique headhunting firm specialising in digital talent, is set-up. e&Co. AG takes a stake in Tallinn-based start-up Autobahn, a digital dealership and order management platform which offers manufacturers a direct connection to customers - both online and offline. While breaking the 10-million-Euro turnover barrier, e&Co. AG. invests in start-up Butleroy, a digital assistant powered by artificial intelligence, and attends the South by Southwest Festival (SXSW). We also set-up our innovation platform motec ventures with Automotive legend Henrik Fisker on the Board of Advisors. Another e&Co. investment is start-up FDTech, which specialises in algorithms for autonomous driving. We open our Berlin office and welcome Uwe Baunach, a passionate automotive veteran with over 30 years of management experience at Volkswagen, as the new chair of our Supervisory Board. Our book, The In.Car.Nation Code, is published and we take a stake in Israeli radar start-up RFISee while setting up CarFellows, an online platform for new car sales. On our fifth anniversary, co-founders and are called to the Management Board as executives for our investment and consultancy operations.
