Specialized agency of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) with a mandate to promote sustainable energy markets, with the overall objective to contribute to the sustainable economic, social and environmental development of West Africa by improving access to modern, reliable and affordable energy services, energy security and reduction of energy related externalities (GHG, local pollution). ECREEE is implementing several key regional and national initiatives aiming to address the daunting challenges facing the region in providing access to clean and affordable energy for all, and improving the livelihoods of the ECOWAS population under the aegis of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
