Elizabeth Moir School

Elizabeth Moir School is an independent English medium international school in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The school is co-educational and admits children from both Sri Lankan and expatriate families resident in Sri Lanka. The school provides a progressive international education, following a British curriculum that is adapted to the school's setting in Sri Lanka. English is the sole medium of instruction and English as a Second Language classes are provided for international students whose English is not fluent when they join. Students sit the British IGCSE and A Level examination and go on to top international universities, some to Britain and others to the USA, Australia and countries all over the world. Elizabeth Moir School is a fully independent private school and the only international school in Sri Lanka to be owned and run by British nationals. Elizabeth Moir, the Head of School, has run international schools in Sri Lanka for thirty years and founded Elizabeth Moir School in 1996. It immediately established itself as one of the very top international schools in Colombo and its commitment to small classes, individual attention and an all-round education have ensured it continues to set the standard. The school operates from two spacious leafy premises in an easily accessible residential area in Colombo. The Junior School has always been on Park Road and the Senior School moved from Guildford Crescent to Thalakotuwa Gardens in 2003.
