eLocalize for Technology is based in Cairo, Egypt with branch offices in the UAE, Germany and a daughter company Localize Africa (Pty) Ltd., in Johannesburg. From small beginnings it has grown to be one of the largest providers of translation and localization services for Middle Eastern and African languages. The original emphasis was on localizing software into Middle Eastern languages principally Arabic, but the demand was so great that it expanded into other regional languages such as Hebrew, Turkish, Farsi, Kurdish, Pashto, and Urdu amongst others. Other fields were gradually added including engineering, DTP, testing, website design and more. Then seeing an opportunity well before the world's attention switched to African markets, eLocalize started offering regional languages and established its own operation in South Africa to handle the increased number of languages, and also to market its services in this country and further afield on the continent.
