Makita Tools

Makita, whose DCS5000 chainsaw is the exclusive choice of the British Army, is backing the British Lumberjacks Sports Association, the UK's leading timber-sports competitors. The Makita sponsored BLSA will attend an expanded calendar of forestry, agricultural and county shows across the UK this year. The BLSA will now only use Makita chainsaws to deliver chainsaw demonstrations and to compete in the sporting competitions against the clock and other challenging teams from Britain and Europe. Current BLSA secretary, Dave Sands, is really enthusiastic about securing the backing of the fastest growing chainsaw brand in the UK. "Makita are a powerful global Company with clear strategies for the UK chainsaw market. Their product is superb and the machine performance is second to none. Having them as a real partner shows that the BLSA is again improving its profile and driving recognition of the sporting side of the timber industry." BLSA team members will now compete wearing Makita branded clothing and branding will be displayed at the show sites. Makita product literature will be available and at the majority of events the local Makita chainsaw distributor will be in attendance to arrange demonstrations and trials of machines locally. BLSA team members will also be attending various trade events during the year to support Makita's sales promotion campaigns. Mark Earles, Makita UK's Outdoor Power Equipment national sales manager, says: "Backing the BLSA team is another link in the ever strengthening chain between Makita and the professional forestry industry. It shows how competitive we are in the market place and reflects how our products challenge and compete at every opportunity."
