At Esporão, we have established the environmental management policy commonly known as the 3Rs - Reduce, Re-use & Recycle, prioritising reduction, whenever possible. o this end, we have implemented a number of initiatives: At the purchase stage, the preference is for products and components with as little packaging as possible or that incorporate the greatest quantity of recyclable materials. We no longer use bottled water, substituting it with water dispensers and personalised and reusable beakers.Internally, we try to re-use materials as much as possible, such as boxes and pallets. Some of the roads at Herdade do Esporão are covered with stone removed from the vineyards (when planting took place), in order to provide a hard surface and protect the soil. The signs and entrance at the Herdade are made with stone from the estate. Employing recycling methodologies for 100% of our activities has brought a number of associated benefits, such as a reduction in the amount of waste generated, the appropriate management of available resources in recyclable waste, and the reduction of the costs associated with waste disposal.
