Eswaran Brothers Exports
Eswaran Brothers, a family owned business was founded in the year 1943, a few years before the country gained independence from the British Empire. It was through the foresight of Subra's grandfather, the visionary VTV Deivanayagam Pillai, that Eswaran Brothers was formed and prospered through time. The company is one of Sri Lanka's most revered organizations and a producer of the country's most famous beverage, tea. Eswaran Tea Exports was formed in the year 1963 by D. Eassuwaren, Subra's father who exported a few chests of low grown Pekoe to Kuwait in the same year. This pioneering effort eventually led to the creation of a significant player in the Sri Lankan Tea industry that exports tea to more than 47 countries. Moreover, the company was one of the first in the country to export tea bags.
