Everest Academy Manila

We are an international school that will offer Advance Placement courses in College. AP Courses actually give college credits to students who want to study in universities abroad. Our standards are international and we benchmark with other schools abroad. IB is a curriculum that can be purchased by schools and used only in part. Everest has chosen to use the curriculum licensed by the National Consultants for Education (NCE) based in the United States as it is developed to prepare the students for AP courses and provides academic excellence as well as a holistic approach to education. Our curriculum integrates different subjects and is founded on a Christian worldview. 3. Are you traditional or progressive? We implement our own licensed method called Integral Formation® to develop the spiritual, intellectual, human, and apostolic dimensions of the whole person. Our standard curriculum is developed and licensed by National Consultants for Education (NCE). We give a lot of personal attention in our teaching approach and have a lot of student- centered activities. We do not focus on memorization but teach our students how to think, how to ask critical questions and how to assimilate and apply their knowledge. These are some of the characteristics that are also used by schools denominated as progressive. To achieve academic excellence and development of the whole person we also have characteristics that are not typically found in progressive schools. We require order in the classrooms with set routines and structures. We also actively impart respect for authority, obedience, structure and all the other values and virtues to our students. Everest combines the best elements of both the progressive and traditional approach, which makes our school very unique in the Philippines, to develop in our students the intellectual ability to understand and form a personal opinion on the challenges of our time. 4. What is Everest's track record in terms of University acceptance? Everest Academy is in its seventh year of operation in the Philippines. Our first batch will be graduating in 2017. Although we do not have graduates in Manila yet we are very pleased with the results of our sister schools that use the same curriculum and teaching methods, and our students are up to par with their results. Pinecrest Academy in Atlanta, for example, scored 30% higher than the schools in Georgia and 25% higher than the schools globally. 5. Why separate the girls and boys in grade 4? Research has proven that brain development differs between boys and girls which becomes significant when they are between 9 and 12 years old.
