Thessaloniki Water Supply & Sewerage Co. S.A. (EYATH S.A.) combines entrepreneurial activity and social responsibility, providing highly targeted water and sewerage services under the minimum possible... cost. Protection of water sources and provision of excellent quality drinking water are reassured, along with the interest for the protection of the environment and mostly the Thermaikos Bay - final receiver of the biological treatment plants outflows. The company, having under its responsibility more than 1,2 million residents of the Thessaloniki Urban Area (second largest city in Greece), has a mission to provide water supply and sewerage services and more specifically: to study, manufacture, install, operate, utilize, maintain, extend and renew water supply and sewerage systems, to utilize products deriving from sewage treatment, to provide any kind of telecommunications services -especially via water supply or sewerage networks-, to produce (utilizing water emanating from springs, dams, aqueducts and ducts) and sell electric power, to make investments according to what has been determined in the prepared contract with the Greek State. Furthermore, the company aims at infusing the principles of rational water use and environmental protection at the core of citizens behaviour, through systematic informational and social activities targeted mainly at school children.
