Fatima University

NEDCI is the fifth campus of Our Lady of Fatima University. Students of NEDCI are assured of the same quality of education and services that being provided to students of other OLFU campuses. This college was established right after the establishment of Nueva Ecija Doctors' Hospital, Inc. (NEDHI) in 1970 when Chairman President Eugenio S. Baltao Jr. had brilliantly planned/conceptualized in putting up a School of Nursing wherein nursing students will have their clinical experiences in NEDHI as their base hospital. He then instructed Dr. Francisco Marcelo and Mr. Celestino J. Roque to initiate and form a group to immediately implement and put the plans into action. This group consisted of physicians and businessmen and was the founding members of the school which named Nueva Ecija Doctors School of Nursing (NEDSN). Fr. Francisco Marcelo was appointed the 1st Medical Director (1971-1974) and Ms. Irene Francia the 1st Principal (1971-1977). Finally, they were granted the official permit to offer a diploma program, Graduate in Nursing (GN) in June 1971. Despite its humble beginnings, the School of Nursing gained government recognition in March 1974. In 1976, the Board of Directors through Dr. Rosenda C. Ubias, then, Principal of Nursing, applied a Degree Program leading to Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The permit was granted and later gained government recognition in March 1980. With the cropping of different allied medical and non-medical programs, the name of the school Nueva Ecija Doctors School of Nursing (NEDSN) was changed to Nueva Ecija Colleges (NEC) in 1975. During the term of appointed 2nd President Mr. Gino Baltao, he pioneered in offering programs such as Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. The Medical Technology course was offered in 1993. In 1998, the school was granted permission to offer Associate course in Tourism and this was recognition by the Commission on Higher Education on January 2002. In September & October 2002, the school was granted permission by the government to offer Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management and Tourism. On February 5, 1999 the school was granted a permit by the Commission on Higher Education to operate the Department of Pharmacy and offer Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy to aspiring students. With the overwhelming competitions of different professions in the labor market locally and internationally, the school never kept back in being abreast with updates and modern technologies significant in the teaching learning process of the students preparing them to be globally competitive. Thousands of successful graduate occupying administrative positions, entrepreneurs of rehabilitation centers and care homes were deployed in almost all foreign countries in the world. As Chancellor Treasurer, the late Mrs. Alicia V. Pantig sought approval of the new President Ms. Rocio P. Baltao, widow of the late founding President Eugenio Baltao, JR. and the Board of Directors for the gradual demolitions of the old school buildings. From then, continuous infrastructures were built such as: fully air conditioned multi-purpose gym and auditorium, (the 1st in Region III Nueva Ecija sport Complex, 3 storey classroom, most of which have air-conditions. Modern facilities for the laboratories were purchased to have a simulated hospital/hotel necessary for the training of their student. From the time of Mrs. Baltao's ascendancy as President, she never ceased providing her overflowing generosity and endless support in uplifting the school for the betterment and contentment of the faculty and staff most especially in the delivery of quality education for its graduates to be globally competitive. At the start of Dr. Rosalynn Josefa DG. Papa's term, in June 2013, innovations were done. The name of the school was changed from Nueva Ecija Colleges (NEC) to Nueva Ecija Doctors' Colleges, Inc. (NEDCI). To learn more information about our other Campuses, please click the gray arrow at the upper left hand corner (below the OLFU logo) and choose the OLFU Campus you want to view.
