Fiare is among the companies which form the Finnish Business Delegation for a Team Finland trip to South Africa this week, March 13-16. Leading Finnish companies in their respective fields join the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development on an expedition to further strengthen the business links between the two nations. The Finnish companies in the delegation represent globally competitive expertise in healthcare, education, ICT and cyber-security. These companies are well equipped to provide state-of-the-art solutions for the South African market. South Africa is Finland's leading trading partner in Sub-Saharan Africa. Around 30 Finnish companies have established permanent operations there and approximately 100 Finnish companies are trading with South African businesses through local cooperation arrangements. Ms. Anne-Mari Virolainen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, was optimistic that the delegation would have a successful trip: "Because South Africa is the most developed economy in Africa and because it offers a huge market for Finnish businesses, our companies continue to have confidence in future opportunities here. South Africa also provides an excellent gateway to other larger markets covering southern Africa. I look forward to learning about new opportunities for expanding trade between our two countries and strengthening the good relations. The programme of the trade mission provides excellent opportunities for companies to establish new networks and strengthen already existing relations. I am sure that this visit will bring new perspectives on how to deepen commercial ties between our countries and forge strong connections for the years to come.
