Fideres was founded by Alberto Thomas and Steffen Hennig. Working through the financial crisis they identified key challenges faced by investors when protecting their rights in distressed investments and recovering value from complex financial claims: asymmetry of information and lack of financial resources. Alberto and Steffen are passionate about assisting institutional investors to overcome these issues in order to improve the enforcement of investor rights. After leaving their successful career in February 2009 as fixed-income professionals, they founded Fideres to implement this vision. Over the past 8 years they have put together a team of experts, researchers and problem solvers. ‎Since its creation, Fideres has been appointed as independent expert in over 68 individual cases and 38 class actions, advising clients on claims worth in excess of $10bn. To date Fideres has been at the forefront of research in financial benchmark manipulation, with widely recognised work on LIBOR, foreign exchange and precious metals, among other cases.
