The Finger Lakes has been blessed with a wealth of people who have made significant contributions during their lives. Chester Wickwire, for example, invented the wire screens that so many of us have on our windows. Without his contribution, we'd be swatting pesking mosquitos all night long. Ezra Cornell founded a major university in the Finger Lakes that bears his name. And without Glenn Curtiss, we might not be flying around the world as we do today. Each of the famous people listed below has helped to make the Finger Lakes the great place it is.
