MV 'Otuanga'ofa started service in December, 2010. his service is run on a weekly basis to the outer islands of Nomuka, Ha'afeva, Pangai, Vava'u and bi-monthly to the Niuas. The MV 'Otuanga'ofa can accommodate up to 400 passenger plus 30 crew members and has a service speed up to 12 knots. The construction of the new 1,500 ton vessel was carried out by the ISB Co. Ltd Shipyard in Chiba Japan, under the management of Mr Toyonori Watanabe (Project Manager/Technical Director) of Fisheries Engineering Co. Ltd, the consultant for the construction of the vessel. FISA provides a safe, reliable shipping service that complies with all regularoty and operational standards and is assessed by qualified external autorities. Althought FISA largely operates within the domestic waters of the Kingdom, the purchase of the MV Niuvakai a cargo ship in 2014 means that there is an opportunity to provide shipping services within the region.
