The school aims to provide a secure and caring environment in which all children, regardless of race, gender or religion, are happy, eager and motivated to learn. We present a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum within the context of the National Curriculum, targeted to recognise, fulfil and extend each child's individual potential. We aim to develop the abilities of all our children to their fullest extent, challenging them towards higher levels of achievement. We seek to ensure that all children have equality of opportunity within a whole school approach to teaching and learning. We seek to help all children to take increasing responsibility for their own learning, encouraging them to develop as individuals, as members of a group and of the school community as a whole, learning to work and play co-operatively. We seek to communicate individual value to each child, looking to build self-esteem and a positive self-image - thereby enabling a secure, equal and reciprocated respect towards others. We expect and seek to facilitate a high standard of behaviour, incorporating good manners and a sense of careful stewardship towards the school environment. We aim to guide and support the development of all school staff to enable the continuing expression of the highest professional expertise and standards. We place a high priority on partnership and team work - seeking actively to incorporate staff, governors, children and parents within a positive, informed, open and co-operative school culture.
