Fonda Mexican
Fonda was founded in Richmond, Victoria in 2011 by two mates - Tim McDonald and Dave Youl. Tim was a lawyer and Dave was a fireman when they both set off to Mexico to develop the concept and get inspiration from Fonda's all over Mexico. The vision was to develop a menu of Mexican street food dishes designed to share, utilising the quality, freshness, and variety of Australian produce. However, the vision for Fonda extended beyond the menu. After a series of negative experiences working in some undesirable workplaces, Tim and Dave were committed to building a hospitality team with a positive and engaging culture. Our internal values are at the core of every decision, and our people are listened to, respected and supported in their growth and development. The Fonda family is set to grow with top LA chef Mark Tagnipez (ex. E.P & L.P) soon to start as Executive Chef. Mark T is currently on a research trip in Mexico, sourcing inspiration to lead the development of a more sophisticated direction for Fonda's food and beverage offering.
