Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Christchurch, New Zealand, Foodstuffs South Island Limited, a part of its larger national parent cooperative Foodstuffs New Zealand Limited, serves New Zealand's south island. The company consists of grocery and liquor retailers whose aggregated influence makes up about half of New Zealand's grocery market.
