Forensicvet.com was started and continues to grow under the influence of Forensic Veterinary Surgeon-David Bailey (pictured). David has the dual qualification of being a Veterinary surgeon and Forensic scientist. He is the founder and course director of the first recognized postgraduate teaching certificate in Veterinary Forensics and Law. (See www.vetforensics.com) Seeing a need for an increased level of training and expertise in legal disputes involving animals, he has been successful in establishing himself as a leading provider of advice, training and opinion in legal disputes involving animals (and animal derivatives). This has been achieved through 17 years experience as a Veterinary surgeon and obtaining a Masters degree in Forensic Science while acting as an expert witness in numerous legal disputes. David is also an Honorary Research Fellow at Staffordshire University in Veterinary Forensics. David has also been asked to write a book on Practical Veterinary Forensics and this is due for release in 2014. Forensic vet places emphasis on teaching, research, and an understanding of the law as it applies to animals and animal derivatives, combined with our unique selling point; an understanding of the evidence required in these disputes.
