For more than 80 years, Foster Brothers Wood Products, Inc. has been a leading supplier of bulk landscape mulch in the Midwest. Founded and based in Auxvasse, Missouri, Foster Brothers operates six facilities across Missouri and Illinois that provide quality wood products and delivery services to the entire Midwest region at an affordable cost. Foster Brothers was first established in 1934 by Wilbur Stanley Foster as a trucking operation and sawdust supplier for brick producers. Between 1934 and 1965, Wilbur supplied sawdust, animal bedding, and early types of mulches to the Midwest region. In 1966 W.G. "Bo" Foster took over the business and continued the operation his father had started 32 years earlier. In 1976, Steve and Jay Foster purchased the business from their father and promptly shifted their focus to bulk wood by-products. By 1985, Foster Brothers was well established in Missouri as the leading supplier of bulk landscape mulches. Since then, Foster Brothers has continued to expand into all areas of wood residues with major expertise in the: Creation of a range of landscaping mulch products. Processing of wood chips for the domestic and international paper markets. Production of wood playground surfaces for schools and municipalities. Manufacture of animal bedding for the livestock and poultry industries. Development of new products, including bio-filters for treatment of industrial and municipal waste, and our signature playground surfacing, Kiddie Kushion®. Foster Brothers also has grown to become Missouri's leading supplier of bio-fuels for colleges, city municipalities, and correctional institutions.
