Floral Park Village

The Floral Park Historical Society was established in late 1999 to increase knowledge of and interest in all subjects relating to Floral Park's history. The society promotes historical research and educates village residents as to the history of Floral Park and preserves for posterity places, buildings, landmarks and objects of historical interest in Floral Park. In addition, the society acquires by purchase, gift or device, many historic articles. The society meets once a month from September to May, at the Floral Park Recreation/Pool Building, located on Stuart Streetin Floral Park. Members need not attend meetings to retain membership. Meetings are open to the public and to prospective members and are announced in advance by mail, postings and listings on our web site. There is no charge for attending. Year-round activities include field trips to historic sites, professional programs and tours, workshops, exhibits and social gatherings. The society maintains an archives and modest museum in the Tyson Building at 103 South Tyson Avenue. We welcome all donations, monetary or otherwise including physical artifacts, old posters, postcards, directories, photographs and the like. Donations are tax deductible.
