Gharf Nigeria

Global Health Awareness Research Foundation (GHARF) is one of the oldest NGO of CENGOS. We hold our meetings every last Wednesday of the month at No 97 Zik Avenue, Uwani Enugu. A priority CENGOS objective is building the capacity of it members. In 2002, GHARF participated in the training workshop organized by the coalition on women participation in Governance, which was popularly known as Civic/voters education. In May to July 2003, GHARF was among the seven NGOs that participated in step-down training at Ozalla community in Igbo-Etiti LGA. The two months capacity training was on women participation in politics using CEDAW as a framework. Between August and October, 2005, GHARF benefited in another capacity building on project proposal writing, monitoring and evaluation and a step-down training on Beijing Plus 10. This was held at DFID office in Enugu state. As part of sustainability plan, GHARF developed a community plan by establishing integrated reproductive health (skill acquisition centre) in Ozalla Igbo-Etiti LGA, which is there till date.
